The Welsh Language and Bilingualism

Within the context of the creation of a bilingual Wales, the University will play a distinctive role. Its mission, educational character and academic portfolio will attest to its strategic importance at national level in furthering bilingualism and supporting the enhancement of the Welsh language and culture.

The development of bilingual programmes and progression routes, from schools and further education colleges as well as its involvement at national level in steering the development of Welsh-medium higher education and its networks of partners across the region, will enable it to continue to make a significant contribution to the creation of a bilingual Wales.
