Research and Scholarship of World-class Standard
Research and scholarship will be at the heart of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. The University will prioritise the development of the knowledge economy and all academic staff will be encouraged to contribute to the economic vitality and regeneration of the region through the dissemination of research, scholarship and best professional practice.
The University will celebrate the research of world-class renown in Theology & Religious Studies and Archaeology, History & Anthropology, building upon their success in the last national Research Assessment Exercise. As the new University looks towards the next cycle of the Research Excellence Framework 2013, a major strategic objective is to increase research grant income and to build upon the excellence of established research, especially in those areas identified as world-leading. The University will build on its reputation for working collaboratively with business, industry, government and other partners to deliver innovative solutions to address identified problems. Researchers will be encouraged to demonstrate the benefits of their work to the economy, society, public policy, culture and quality of life.
