Welcome to the University of Wales Trinity Saint David
Our University is the newest in Wales, yet our roots stretch back to the creation of our founding institutions in 1822 and 1848. The creation of a new university is an exciting challenge: it is an opportunity to build upon existing excellence to create a sustainable future. The new university has already secured a multimillion pound government investment and this will be reinvested to provide an environment befitting twenty-first century learning, teaching, research and scholarship.
Yet amongst these major developments, students remain at the heart of the University.
Our campuses in Carmarthen and Lampeter offer a beautiful and enriching environment with everything that you need on one site. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere is obvious and each campus brings people together to form a close- knit community in which the ability to recognise and respect the individual is paramount.
Our exciting courses offer options ranging from traditional humanities subjects to modern business-focussed programmes. All teaching is conducted in small classes by staff at the cutting edge of their subjects in a friendly and supportive learning environment. There are study abroad options available in all subjects while many courses also offer work placements and internships.
For students studying on the campuses in Carmarthen and Lampeter, the student social life is second to none since it is organized by students for students. On each campus the Students’ Union is the focus of events and activities, including sports clubs ranging from football to surfing, and non-sporting societies from volunteering to dance, the range of possibilities is limitless.
But, as the University develops and grows, so too does our student community. Many of our students are studying in the workplace, using their every day work as the basis for gaining university qualifications. A considerable number of our students are studying at our partner institutions including at FE Colleges in Brecon, Aberdare and international colleges in London.
