There has been a lot of interest recently in the changes to tuition fees from 2012 onwards.
The key facts are that most students pay nothing up front and won’t have to pay it back until you earn over £21,000 a year as a graduate. If you are eligible for UK student support you will repay a smaller amount per year than in the current system and you will repay the same amount no matter what the tuition fee is.
The payment will automatically come out of your salary if you are working in the UK after you finish your course, just like tax and national insurance.
How much will my course cost?
The cost of your course depends on a number of things – mainly what course you choose and where you are living when you apply for the course.
Although the fees at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David has been set at £8,500 for our undergraduate courses (except Primary Education with QTS which is £9,000), we have a range of scholarships and means tested bursaries available including £1000 towards the cost of University accommodation in your first year if you are a full fee-paying student.
If you live in Wales, you will pay £ 3,465 per year for full-time course because the Welsh Government has introduced a new training fee grant to help pay the cost of the £ 8,500 fee (£9,000 for Primary Education with QTS) per year. And there are lots of scholarships and bursaries available from the University to support talented students from all backgrounds.
