Scholarships and Bursaries
We have a strong record at Trinity Saint David in widening access to higher education and providing targeted bursaries. We believe that fees must not be a disincentive for students thinking about higher education and are committed to attracting and supporting the very best students.
With this in mind, we are offering a range of scholarships and bursaries to support talented students from every background. If you have the talent and ability, we want to make sure that you have the opportunity to study here regardless of your financial circumstances.
The Academic Excellence Awards are judged on individual basis and awarded to the highest achieving full-time students entering Trinity Saint David, based on their UCAS tariff score.
The Departmental Scholarships worth up to £1000 are judged on student’s ‘all-round’ performance –effort / attendance / contribution / standard of work / extra-curricular activities / enthusiasm.
They are available for students in the following academic areas:
- Archaeology, History and Anthropology
- Business
- Classics
- Creative Arts
- Cultural Studies
- Early Childhood
- Initial Teacher Education and Training
- Social Justice and Inclusion
- Sport, Health and Outdoor Education
- Performing Arts
- Theology, Religious Studies and Islamic Studies
The Trinity Saint David Bursary worth up to £1,000 is awarded to full-time students from low-income backgrounds
The means-tested Residential Bursary worth up to £1000 is open to all full fee-paying students who have selected the University of Wales Trinity Saint David as their first choice.
Welsh-medium/bilingual scholarships
University scholarships of up to £600 for 120 credits, or £50 per 10 credits successfully completed through the medium of Welsh or bilingually. In addition, Y Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol offers scholarships of up to £1,000 per year for studying their degree through the medium of Welsh (for further information, visit www.mantais.ac.uk).
FE/HE progression
A number of bursaries of up to £500 are available for students who are progressing from further education to higher education.
Internships
After you commence your course, you may apply for a bursary to enable you to work during your summer holidays. You can get up to £1,000 to work in a company or organisation related to your degree studies - giving your CV an extra boost!
Nursery Facilities
Up to £700 may be available for you to spend on nursery facilities at the University Nurseries - Y Gamfa Wen and Gwdihws. This bursary is means-tested.
Educational Vouchers
After commencing your course at University, you can apply for educational vouchers of up to £200 for a range of course-based and extra-curricular activities including study visits, voice and instrumental coaching, sports equipment and special clothing, international exchanges, and conferences.
Organ Scholarship
An Organ Scholarship is available for students on the Lampeter Campus. It is possible for a competent pianist with no previous experience of playing the organ to qualify. For further details please contact the Lampeter Chaplain - m.hill@tsd.ac.uk.
International students
The University offers a range of awards for international students including scholarships, internships, and a hardship fund which provides assistance for international students experiencing financial difficulties. Find out more...
