Fees and Applications

Applying to the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology

Normally we expect a good BA in a relevant subject (such as history, sociology, literature, religious studies). However, recognising that the subject area is interdisciplinary and there are no undergraduate courses in CAA, we can admit graduates with other degrees whole applicants without degrees may be admitted on the basis of prior experience and learning. We may ask you to write a 3000 word academic essay to support your application. In these cases you should contact Dr Campion, the course director, before applying

How to apply

Application forms, referees forms and guidance notes can be downloaded from http://www.lamp.ac.uk/postgrads/applications/

On the form note that the MA you are studying is the MA Cultural Astronomy and Astrology, and the department is Sophia Centre/School of AHA.

You will need two referees, and will be sent referee forms along with the application form. You should send the forms to your referees who should return their references to you in sealed envelopes. You will then enclose these with your application.

You will also need to send in copies of any degree certificates and will need to obtain transcripts of academic records from your previous university. If your degree certificate is not in English, you should attach an English translation.

Please do not send in your application until you have all the documentation complete (unless by previous arrangement) as your application will not normally be considered until the complete package has been received.

Your application should be sent to The Academic Registry, University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Lampeter, Ceredigion, Wales, SA48 7ED, UK.

We have two intakes a year, in October and January. To be sure of securing a place you should submit your application by 30 June and 30 November respectively.
