Role in the University

Christine is responsible for providing strategic direction for the School and managing the academic activities within it including Welsh for Adults. She is also the co-director of CAIACh, the Centre for Language Study, Education and the Community and is the co-ordinator of the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education. She specialises in applied linguistics, sociolinguistics and dialectology and has published extensively in these fields. An experienced research supervisor, she also teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules. As well as being the External Examiner for the national qualification in Teaching Welsh to Adults (Cardiff University) and the Foundation degree in Translation (Glyndŵr University), she is a Subject Specialist (Welsh for Adults), for the Welsh Language Development Unit of the National Assembly of Wales.
