Christine is responsible for providing strategic direction for the School and managing the academic activities within it including Welsh for Adults. She is also the co-director of CAIACh, the Centre for Language Study, Education and the Community and is the co-ordinator of the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education. She specialises in applied linguistics, sociolinguistics and dialectology and has published extensively in these fields. An experienced research supervisor, she also teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules.

Andrew is responsible for managing the translation service, monitoring the institutional language scheme, and coordinating and teaching on the Professional Communication programme. He is also Centre Coordinator for NVQ Language Units, Key Skills and Essential Skills Wales.

Dr Rhiannon Ifans’ main field of research is medieval Welsh literature, both poetry and prose. She is the foremost scholar working in the field of the Welsh carol and related texts, and as editor of the old-established and authoritative journal relating to Welsh folksong, Canu Gwerin, she has made a significant contribution to the publication of Welsh music and research.
She has also published extensively on Welsh folk life and folk culture, Welsh theatre (with special reference to the eighteenth-century interludes), and new research by Dr Ifans proves that the first published literary volume by a woman was the work of Jane Ellis, an important milestone in the assessment of Welsh publishing. An award-winning children’s author,
she is a regular participator at festivals and in schools and higher education institutions.

Heulwen is responsible for coordinating and teaching on the Welsh for Adults programme, in conjunction with the South West Wales Welsh for Adults Centre. She also leads a team of 12 part-time tutors.
