Facilities
The School has many dedicated rehearsal and work spaces, all of which are accessible until late at night with the use of a keycard. So whether you're working late finishing a project, or if you need a studio to rehearse a dance piece over the weekend there will be a space suitable for you.
The Halliwell Theatre
The main performance space in the department, the mainstage theatre has a flexible staging system which allows the space to be transformed into a variety of guises and environments. It accommodates all types of performance, from cabaret-style events to promenade theatre to main house settings.
The Halliwell Theatre frequently receives local and national touring companies of varying scales, providing students with the opportunity to experience different kinds of theatre as well as make contacts within the industry.
The Workshop
The School has a well-resourced design & construction workshop on campus. The workshop offers a large open space for building and paint frames, as well as separate work areas such as a welding and metalwork room and a casting area.
All students undergo a thorough orientation in workshop health and safety, tool use and workshop practice in order to use these facilities to their best advantage.
The Studio
The Studio is a 160 seat multi-purpose studio space. It has a sprung floor and is equipped with a retractable seating unit. There is an eight metre mirrored wall for dance and black tabs to divide the performance spaces.
Theatr Parry
Theatr Parry is the second theatre on campus, providing an extremely versatile space for all types of performance.
Theatr Fach
Theatr Fach is a multi-purpose rehearsal studio, complete with green screen, editing studio and recording booth.
Wardrobe/ Sound & Lighting and Props Store
A well-stocked technical and props store can be accessed by students at any time of day, as can the wardrobe. These facilities prove useful to students across all degree programmes.
Costume Workroom
The School has a modern and spacious costume workshop, including industrial and domestic machines, overlocker and laundry facilities.
Editing Suites
We have both Mac and PC suites on campus for use across both performance and media degree programmes.
