International Students' Outdoor Adventure Programme

Study in Wales for the experience of a lifetime...

Students The outdoor adventure programme at Trinity University College Carmarthen offers study abroad students a wide-range of exciting activities in a beautiful and culturally rich environment.

Is it right for you?

Each year we welcome students from diverse backgrounds and areas of study. There are challenges to suit everyone. A positive attitude and an open mind are more important than physical fitness or expertise in the outdoors.

The Programme

The course will allow you to develop personal skills in a range of activities and the opportunity to challenge yourself in many ways. The primary focus for the programme is to develop your ability to critically reflect upon experiences and to examine how you might develop new ways of applying established knowledge, and at times to question perceived wisdom. Whilst the activities are enjoyable they are fundamentally a means for examining a range of academic themes, such as:

  • Sustainability
  • Personal and social development
  • The duality of risk versus adventure.

Theory sessions will be used to prepare for the practical activities, to review experiences and to provide the necessary background knowledge essential for the various assessments. The modules are primarily assessed through a series of personal, reflective journals.
