Job Title

Senior Lecturer in the School of Social Justice and Inclusion

Role in the University

Senior Lecturer in Social Justice and Inclusion Caroline is also the External Examiner for the BA Education Studies at Durham Universities. She has also worked on both internal and external validation boards for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Trinity College and Portsmouth University. Currently Programme Co-ordinator for BA Education Studies and MA in Inclusive Studies programmes, PhD Supervisor and a member of the Faculty Board for Education

Caroline lectures on a variety of topics including, disaffection, identity, sociology, social justice, thinking and learning, as well as creativity and research methodology.

Academic Interests

Caroline's research focus lies in the fields of disaffection and reengagement in society particularly focusing on how this influences identity. Beyond this she also has an interest in education, learning, virtual learning environments and learning and using the outdoor environment to support inclusion.

She currently peer reviews papers and book proposals for a number of publishers in education and social inclusion including BERA, Sage, Routledge, Taylor and Francis, Information and Media Literacy (Informing Science Press) and Teaching and Teacher Education category within Elsevier Publishing.
