‘With the right team around me, together we can make a difference to all our students by offering them a quality experience that prepares them for a sparkling future in the world of work’
Welcome to the School of Social Justice and Inclusion. Our School prides itself on its innovate approach within the Higher Education sector and I am proud of my team who are enthusiastic and extremely supportive of our students both in terms of academic work and pastoral care.
We want our students to celebrate the academic challenge which our programmes demand of them as much as the vocational elements that together provide them with opportunities to prepare for a graduate career in the future.
We acknowledge that we live in a competitive global environment where the University of Wales Trinity Saint David is but a small cog, however we foresee our graduates making a significant contribution to the environment both locally and globally in the future. The School designs its programmes in response to the needs of society, employers, those who wish to develop themselves professionally, and those who wish to gain valuable qualifications and recognition in a demanding economic environment. The School works collaboratively with FE partner Institutions to expand the range of vocationally relevant accredited programmes available in the region and beyond.
Currently, we offer four distinct programmes. BA Social Inclusion is a cross discipline programme drawn from a perspective of social justice; incorporating social policy and its links to practice in a variety of contexts. The MA Inclusive Studies would be a natural progression for BA Social Inclusion graduates, and also for those graduates with an interest in studies which affect inclusion in society in a variety of ways. Within the Psychology discipline we offer a BSc single honours. The BA Primary Education Studies programme provides a depth of knowledge and experience in the context of Primary Education in Wales and beyond. Finally the Youth and Community programme is available at Honours and Master’s degree level. Both of these programmes are professionally endorsed, and are recognised nationally and internationally.
In addition to the breadth of disciplines identified above, the School also offers many CPD opportunities as part of its work in meeting the needs of employers in the region.
