LecturerBackground
I have been involved with early years education for almost twenty years. After completing my NNEB,I set up one of the first day nurseries in south Wales and then set up a second daycare centre in Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli. Following this, I joined Dyfed-Powys Police and after a probationary period, took up intensive training in child protection and worked in the Family Protection Unit.
Following this, I established a new bilingual day nursery, which now employs more than twenty early years practitioners and provides a service to nearly one hundred families.
During this time, I returned to higher education to follow a BA in Early Years Education at Trinity College, where I was able to follow a new method of study - Flexible Learning Route. This enabled me to run my business during the day and study during the evenings. In 2004, I graduated with a First Class Honours degree and in 2006 took up a full time post within the School of Early Childhood as a University of Wales Welsh medium teaching Fellow. Since working at Trinity I have had the opportunity to attend a study week in Reggio Emilia, Northern Italy.
