Background

My first degree is in English from the University of Wales Aberystwyth. After time as a secondary teacher in Cardiff, I switched to early years with establishing and running a local cylch meithrin. Almost 35 years later, I am still in the business of services for young children. I have worked in the voluntary, statutory and private sectors. I was a member of the Welsh Assembly’s Ministerial Advisory Group on Early Years Education and involved in the development of the Foundation Phase. My research interests include early bilingualism, research methodology and ethics, and I am particularly interested in early childhood learning theory.
