Background
My first degree is a BEd (Hons) from Nottingham University focusing on the age range 0-7 years. I began my teaching career as a nursery teacher in the Inner London Education Authority (ILEA) and I taught in a range of schools including a Primary, Infant and a Nursery School. After 5 very full and professionally beneficial years in London I became an Early Years Advisory teacher in West Sussex with responsibility for multi-cultural education.
After moving to Wales I had the opportunity to plan and open a brand new nursery unit in a bilingual Primary School where I worked for a further 4 years before moving into Further Education and teaching Nursery Nurses for 10 years. I joined the staff of the School of Early Childhood at Trinity during my time as an MA student in the School. My research interests include The Foundation Phase in Wales, early learning and the role of the adult in children’s development and learning.Member of
