"Going in to higher education can be daunting for mature students. I was initially quite anxious about fitting in as I was 30 when I began my BA in Philosophy.

The needs of a mature student can often be different from those entering university from school. As a father of 3, I was nervous about whether the department and university would be flexible and supportive enough during times of family difficulties; afterall, children do not run acccording to semester timetables! I need not have had such concerns.  The support I have received from my lecturers has been outstanding; I really could not have asked for more.
