Resources

Our students enjoy a wide range of available resources, both printed and electronic, through the Learning Resources Centre. Students are expected to use the resources offered by the Learning Resources Centre throughout their studies.

Classics section in University Library The School of Classics over the last decade has invested heavily in e-resources – academic books, journals and databases that our students can access via the internet. These electronic resources complement the existing printed books and journals in the Learning Resources Centre and provide students the opportunity to access material for their studies from their own computers wherever they are. Our growing Classics e-resources collection includes more than 1000 e-books, 100 e-journals and 10 databases, all freely available to our students. Monuments of Rome Exhibition by 2011 finalists poster Students are provided with specific reading lists by the lecturers and tutors and are guided to study resources via our Virtual Learning Environment. Learn more about e-learning and the Virtual Learning Environment in the School of Classics here.

In several of our modules, our students have the opportunity to work with books and texts in the Roderick Bowen Library and Archives, where they work with manuscripts and books from the pre-modern period. Explore the 2011 Finalists Online Exhibition on the Monuments of Ancient Rome here.
