Job Title

Senior Lecturer: Work-based Learning

Role in the University

  • Curriculum leadership across Trinity University College on all aspects of work-based learning programmes including awareness raising, staff development, innovative curriculum design and delivery, accreditation of prior certificated and experiential learning, accreditation of staff development programmes for employers and validation of programmes. 
  • Programme Coordinator for Professional Practice Framework
  • Programme Coordinator for the MA in Learning and Teaching.
  • Building relationships with other HE institutions to work collaboratively and learn from good practice. External representation as detailed below. 
  • Liaison with professional organisations such as the Universities Association for Lifelong Learning, UfI/learndirect Learning through Work, Foundation Degree Forward, EBTA, Higher Education Academy, HEFCW/HEFCE and Welsh Assembly Government funded development projects.  Liaison with Sector Skills Councils and employers.
  • Generation of income through contract and consultancy work.

Background

Dr Wilson joined Trinity University College from her position as Senior Lecturer in Education Management at Roehampton University. Prior to moving into higher education she had 20 years’ experience as a teacher, staff developer and was a member of the senior management team in the post-compulsory education sector for seven years. Her final post was as Director of Staff and Student Services for a large FE college where she also chaired the local CIPD branch.

I was awarded an Open University Crowther Award scholarship to fund my postgraduate study.
