Role in the University

Tracey is a lecturer in Organisational Studies and Human Resource Management modules, including Organisational Behaviour, International HRM, Managing Diversity, Leadership, Business Function and Management skill modules.

She also undertakes further duties in the school, namely conducting the role of Assessment Officer

Background

Tracey joined the department in September 2010, having previously taught at Teesside University.

Tracey has a first degree in Human Resource Management from Teesside University, is a Graduate Member of the CIPD and won the 2007 award for CIPD Student of the Year (Tees Valley). She also holds membership with the UK Evaluation Society and International Research Society for Public Management.

Her PhD was confirmed in May 2012 and is entitled ‘An ethnographic account of programme evaluation: The Case of a North East England Economic Development Initiative’. This contribution is based on her experience as a Programme Evaluator for a substantial economic regeneration programme.

She has also worked and conducted research in both public and private organisations including a UK Police Force, Local Authority and Insurance company.

Academic Interests

Tracey maintains her initial interest in Human Resource Management and in particular delivery strategies for HR, such as HR Business Partnering.

Through her work and research experience she is interested in programme evaluation and public sector management.

Enterprise Interests

Tracey has conducted research for Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, and the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative. She has also been the Evaluation lead on a number of other project bids. Tracey also assists with projects within Trinity St David.
