Steve is mainly concerned with Leadership and Small Business Development courses.
As MIT Partnership Coordinator, he is also responsible for the development and day-to-day management of the Department’s links with external partners to deliver UWL Management and IT degrees outside Lampeter.
Background
Steve re-joined the department in September 2008, having previously taught at MIT UWL from 2004-7 and following a short period with University Campus Suffolk.
Steve brings extensive experience at senior management level in education, industry and the not-for-profit sector, together with practical experience gained in running small businesses and through management consultancy.
His career to date has included posts as Assistant Principal for Resourcing in Wales' largest FE College, Director of a national charity for people with learning disabilities, and running several businesses. He has also worked as an independent assessor for the WAG’s Corporate Health Standards Awards, in Human Resource Management and Quality Assurance roles in the manufacturing sector, and has Health and Safety and Risk Management skills and experience.
Steve has a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies, a PGCE, and postgraduate/professional qualifications in HR, Occupational Health and Safety, Training and Development, and Business Management. With an interest in developing Leadership skills, Steve has links with providers of Outdoor Activities and has participated in numerous expeditions including to the Himalayas, Pyrenees, Alps, Snowdonia and ‘the Munroes’ – especially where supporting people with disabilities.
