Research Clusters and Projects
Archaeology, History and Anthropology
This research cluster brings together the often complementary research interests within these disciplines and focuses on the areas of landscape and environment, the Mediterranean and the Near East, cultural politics, and material culture.
Classics
Research in this cluster cover a wide range of topics but is concentrated in two key areas of collaborative strength: ancient narrative and Republican Roman history. Further research synergies are found in the fields of religion, historiography, epigraphy, and social history.
Education
The education research cluster includes research focused on education (particular interests are, early years education, special educational needs, outdoor education, bilingualism , thinking skills development) and related social practice fields (including social inclusion, youth and community work, health and social care). Teacher educators are engaged with colleagues, student teachers and schools in the development of classroom practice through action research. Researchers in the disciplines of Welsh and psychology are also part of this diverse collaborative cluster.

Theology & Religious Studies
Research in this cluster covers a wide range of topics that include the travels and pilgrimages of saints, Church tourism in Wales, Orthodox theology, representations of Hindu traditions in the West, methodological issues in the study of religion, the visual culture of the Bible, Islam in the digital age, and monasticism.
