Start of Term Arrangements

The Postgraduate Students Induction Programme document lets you know where you need to be at certain times during your first week at University. Please read carefully and contact Registry if you have any queries.

Alternative Induction Arrangements have been made for postgraduates of the School of Business which you should have received by e-mail. You will need to read the following documents ahead of registration.

Documents Required for Registration

During the Registration process, you will be asked for certain documents as proof of identity and proof of prior qualifications. You will need to show original documents as well as provide photocopies which will be kept confidentially on your file in Registry.

Please refer to the Registration Documents Required by Postgraduate Students for a list of all the original and photocopied documents that will be needed.

Medical Information

As well as providing the necessary personal documentation referred to above, you will need to complete a short Medical Questionnaire that will be kept confidentially on your file in Registry. Please complete and hand in at registration.

The University recommends that you register with a local GP. Representatives from Taliesin Surgery, Lampeter will be present on Registration Day.

It is important that you read the current information and advice available to students regarding Swine Flu, and also information on Mumps and Meningitis Outbreak and Immunisation.

Survival Guide

The Survival Guide is a document that offers all kinds of information about various aspects of University life. A hard copy will be handed to you on Registration Day.

Student Finance

For information on all financial aspects, from Payment of Tuition Fees to Bursaries and Scholarships, see Student Finance.

As soon as you are fully registered, the University will inform the Student Loan Company and the first instalment of your loan will be paid into your bank account. This process can take at least 4-5 working days. We regret that will be unable to fully register you until all the required registration documents have been received.

Student Declarations

The Enrolment Declaration sets out the terms on which the University accepts you onto a programme. During Registration, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and understood the contents of this document and that you agree to be bound by its terms and conditions.

You will also need to confirm that you accept the terms and conditions regarding the Plagiarism Detection Service used by the University.

Please read both documents ahead of Registration.

Travel Plan

Those of you who wish to bring your own car to University are advised to register your vehicle at the Main Reception where you will be issued with a parking permit.

Information for the Higher Education Statistical Agency (HESA)

The University will be required to send data about you to the Higher Education Statistical Agency which will in turn pass the data to other organisations that need it to carry out their statutory functions connected with the funding of higher education. Lloyd Thomas Dining Room and 1822 Coffee Shop

On Sunday, 25th September 2011 the 1822 Coffee Shop will be open for beverages between 10am and 12noon.  Light Snacks and beverages are also available between 2pm and 7pm.

Sunday Carvery will be available in the Lloyd Thomas Hall from 12noon until 2pm.

Learning Welsh
