As a main tourist destination, Carmarthen, in South West Wales is steeped in a rich history and heritage. From the bustle of town life to the quiet tranquility of the countryside, and breathtaking beauty of the sandy beaches, there’s plenty for you to do during your leisure time. The Carmarthen campus is surrounded by green fields and hills on the outskirts of Carmarthen, a market town and the commercial centre for a large and thriving area. There’s a good choice of big name shops and supermarkets, a cinema and places to eat as well as to socialise in the evenings. Although, perhaps Carmarthen is best known locally for its choice of good home grown quality food, its many art venues and cultural sites, as well as for the many small shops that sell unique goods. From giftware to fashions, it is all within walking distance from the campus.
