BA English

About the Course

English is a dynamic and diverse subject, ranging from the bloody revenge dramas of the Renaissance to contemporary blockbusters, from the realist novels of the nineteenth century to the latest developments on the World Wide Web.

This degree combines a commitment to the large historical picture of English studies (from Beowulf to Tom Wolfe) with a responsiveness to new directions and concerns of the subject precipitated by developments in critical and cultural theory.
