Student Mentoring

Mentors are recruited from the student ambassador team at the University Of Wales Trinity Saint David to work in local secondary schools throughout Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. Working one to one, in small groups and in the classroom, mentors support targeted pupils from Years 7 - 13.

The aim of mentoring is to raise the aspirations, motivation and educational achievements of the pupils and to provide them with role models and ‘ambassadors’ for higher education.

Student mentors are required to apply for the post, undergo training and complete a full CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check to ensure suitability.
