Chaplaincy - Carmarthen Campus

Welcome to the Chaplaincy!

At the heart of the campus

Chapel The University Chapel is set at the heart of the Trinity Campus in the original buildings of Hen Goleg, reminding us of the Christian values of love and service that have central here since the College was established in 1848. Like any living, beating heart, its purpose is to pump life-giving oxygen around the body. Our hope is that you find energy and inspiration through the activities of the Chaplaincy that give you vitality for the whole of life.

A heart for God

Every weekday during term-time there are opportunities for worship that open us to a greater and deeper life than we could ever imagine, the life of God himself. We come expectant, hoping to be filled with the oxygen that gives life to our bodies and souls. We are sent out with a gift not for ourselves alone, but to be shared.

A heart for people

We exist for each other. The Chaplaincy seeks to be a community where all individuals are valued, where gifts are celebrated and where love is visible. Pastoral care is offered to all members of the university regardless of religious background. We hope that in our care for one another that we catch a glimpse of the immense love of God for every human being.

A heart for the world

We live in a wonderful, complex and exciting world, but also one that is broken and hurting. Chaplaincy seeks to help people become part of the process of healing by taking action on a range of social justice issues, particularly those relating to poverty and human rights.

A heart transformed

If this university does its work well, people will leave having been changed. This is not simply about getting a degree (although that is good!) but also about being equipped for life in a very broad sense. Chaplaincy aims to be part of that process of transformation, reminding the university that we have souls as well as bodies. Our hearts beat to carry oxygen to every cell so that we may be fully alive.
