Don’t forget the Children!

Having designed the children out of the landscape this presentation will concentrate on the journey of the children and young people in designing and creating successful and inclusive public spaces, parks, playgrounds and outdoor education establishments. It will highlight how young children can be full participants in the decision making process and demonstrate ideas and mechanisms to suggest that this is the way to go to reintroduce children to want to be outside, to engage with their environment and to be a visible part of the community and that in doing this and building children and young people back into our landscapes that the potential results are significant for outdoor educationists as much as for the communities in which the children live.
