Conferences - Lampeter Campus

A Superb Conference and Meeting Venue

The Lampeter campus offers a range of conference and meeting facilities for groups of 6 to 450 people, all set within our attractive landscaped campus in Mid-Wales.

Our well-equipped meeting rooms can be booked for both day meetings and longer residential events with comfortable accommodation and meals provided close by.

Our location within Mid-Wales makes Lampeter an ideal location for pan-Wales meetings with approximately equal travel distances from both North and South Wales.  In addition, Lampeter is close to many tourist attractions and the coast enabling excursions to be incorporated easily into a conference programme.

Meeting Rooms

The Old Hall

Our historic Old Hall, the original dining room of St David’s College, is a flexible meeting room for up to 100 people which is equipped with modern audio visual equipment.  The vaulted ceiling and imposing portraits of past Principals of the University provide a unique setting for any meeting, reception or for formal dinners, when up to 72 guests can be served.

Lloyd Thomas Hall

Lloyd Thomas Hall is the largest catering venue in Ceredigion and can seat 375 people for weddings, dinners and other functions.  The Hall has its own private bar and lounge area, and separate meeting rooms around the edge of the main hall.

Private Dining Room

For smaller, more intimate, meetings, dinners or wedding breakfasts the Private Dining Room can seat up to 48 people.

The Board Room

For small meetings, the Board Room within the listed St David’s Building can seat up to 12 delegates.  The Board Room is equipped with audio visual equipment for presentations.

The Arts Hall

The Arts Hall is our largest conference hall and can seat up to 450 delegates.  There is a raised stage with full lighting rigging, full conference facilities and a recording booth where conference proceedings can be filmed.  For functions requiring an open floor such as discos and parties, all the seating can be removed leaving a floor space of approximately 400m2.  There is a bar immediately outside the Arts Hall.

The Cliff Tucker Theatre

The Cliff Tucker Theatre is a purpose built lecture theatre that can seat 195 delegates.  The Theatre houses full conference facilities and a recording and translation booth.

Other Meeting Rooms

We also have a number of other small meeting rooms.  Once again, these all contain full presentation facilities.

Conference Facilities

All of our meeting rooms except Lloyd Thomas Hall and the Private Dining Room offer full conference facilities including a computer with Internet connection and Powerpoint software, and a plasma screen or video projector and screen.  We would be pleased to provide additional equipment and services and can provide anything from flipcharts and pens to the streaming of your event live on the Internet, as well as the technical assistance to ensure your event is a success.  Please discuss your requirements with us in advance as there may be additional charges for these services.

Parking & Access

Ample, free parking is provided at a central location within the Lampeter campus and all rooms are wheelchair accessible.

Accommodation

A range of accommodation on campus is also available for conference delegates.  Within term time, ensuite rooms are available within the Lloyd Thomas Hall (including some with disabled access and other features such as variable height desks.)  Outside of term time, other rooms are available, some ensuite and some standard single bedrooms each with a washroom and shared facilities.  All rooms are located within the Lampeter campus close to the meeting rooms and catering services.

Catering

Our Catering Services do not restrict you to set menu’s or packages but instead offer a full and personal service to suit your individual requirements.  They are happy to discuss your conference catering requirements such as menus, drinks and service options, or anything else that you require to make your day extra special.  If your meeting involves a trip out from Lampeter, packed lunches can be provided.
