Students Extended Partnership with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David

Through the work of the University’s Marketing Unit, several schools have already established a formal link agreement with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. The University would wish to see all the schools who register their pupils with the Associate Faculty signing such an agreement. By establishing such an agreement, the University commits to:

  • establish an active partnership with the school, that will include academic support – such as school visits by tutors – and extracurricular support such as the use of University facilities or resources at favourable rates or for free as appropriate, e.g. teaching rooms, accommodation, theatre, the conference centre and sports centre;
  • contribute to the school’s careers/higher education programme by arranging that its staff visits the school to discuss topics such as completing UCAS forms, choosing a university/college or course, financing higher education, and contributing to the school’s mock interview programme;
  • Studentscollaborate with the school to ensure lifelong learning opportunities in the community;
  • arrange a residential school and/or day courses at the University based on A/S, A Level subjects such as Welsh, Religious Studies, Drama, English, Sports Studies, Music, Media etc ensuring opportunities for groups of pupils to attend;
  • arrange a programme of varied activities as part of its widening access work that will start in years 7 or 8 and develop every year;
  • promise to interview every candidate from the school and to offer a place on an individual basis and on the recommendation of the school, i.e. several factors will be taken into consideration in addition to the individual’s academic achievement.
