Going for Gold

Students Introduction

I am pleased to present the 2011-2012 Associate Faculty’s ‘Going for Gold’ scheme at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

This innovative scheme underpins the University’s response to the Welsh Assembly Government’s Transforming Education agenda and offers bilingual opportunities for secondary school pupils across South Wales to study at university level.

AUR provides a programme of relevant modules that will reinforce the work of schools in developing their pupils, both academically and socially.

In planning for the future, it is the intention of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David to provide a range of appropriate educational experiences for Year 12/13 pupils which, hopefully, will encourage them to continue with their studies in the future at a university of their choice.

This exciting scheme, which has been targeted at secondary schools in South West Wales as well as all the Welsh medium secondary schools across South Wales in the first instance, demonstrates the University’s commitment to widening access as well as to Welsh medium and bilingual higher education. During the past two years we have already celebrated the success of over 1500 sixth form students in partnership with 26 schools.

StudentsThe Associate Faculty is a pioneering project.
The opportunities are endless.
The benefits to students are numerous.

We sincerely hope that your institution will support this unique and innovative scheme and if you  are not already a part of this project, do contact us and take advantage of this exciting venture.
