Trinity College Alumni
Report by Gwen Harris (née Morgan)
14 May 2008
A few years ago, three from the first girls at Trinity in 1957 – Mercia Thomas (née Davies), Gillian Jenkins (née Gravell) and Gwen Harris (née Morgan) – started meeting once a year in Carmarthen. By now, this small group has increased and meet twice a year.

On 11th April twelve came together at the Ivy Bush Hotel – some came from Carmarthenshire, some from Cardiganshire and one from Swansea. It started with a coffee and a chance to catch up on the latest news especially with reference to fellow past students who were in touch with someone or who are living in the area.
Then a chance to reminisce over a meal with some photographs from College between 1957 and 1959 that comes in handy when you’re trying to put a face to a name that may not be as familiar as usual or that doesn’t come to mind.
After the success of last year’s alumni reunion at Trinity, the group has decided to meet at Trinity next September rather than meet somewhere else in Carmarthen next October as usual.
Mercia Thomas (née Davies) was thanked for organising the room in the Ivy Bush Hotel once again. The group left feeling younger by fifty years after a few hours of laughing and reminiscing about the happy days spent at Trinity in the 1950s while looking forward to meeting even more friends in the annual reunion in September.
